Kentucky Teacher has Kentucky covered Part II

Update on science standards

Achieve has announced that the second and final public draft of the Next Generation Science Standards (NGSS) will be released next month, the first week in January. Achieve encourages all interested parties to review the draft when it is released and provide feedback. The NGSS will be completed in March 2013. Mathematics and science nominations sought

Nominations are now being accepted for the 2013 Presidential Awards for Excellence in Mathematics and Science Teaching (PAEMST) -- the nation's highest honors for K-12 mathematics and science teachers. The awards alternate annually between K-6 teachers and those in grades 7-12. The 2013 awards honor 7-12 mathematics and science teachers. Nominations can be made here. Energy and Environment Efficiency Grant Awards announced

Gov. Beshear announced Wednesday that 13 organizations are receiving grant funding under the 2011 settlement agreement between the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency and the Tennessee Valley Authority (TVA).
