The registration deadline for the Academy for the Integration of the Arts and Literacy, one of four arts academies and arts integration academies offered this summer by the Kentucky Center for the Performing Arts, has been extended.

Teachers may now register through May 8 for the arts-literacy academy July 20-23 in Florence. The academy is open to teachers in grades 4-12 who teach the arts, English/language arts or social studies.

The academy will feature national trainers from Brown University’s nationally acclaimed ArtsLiteracy Project.

Teachers will receive hands-on, standards-aligned training. Teachers are expected to attend all five days and will receive either a $500 stipend or up to six hours per day of professional development credit as approved by their districts.

The application deadline for three other academies offered by the Kentucky Center has passed. Click here for more information or to apply for the arts-literacy academy.
