Math, CTE teachers can collaborate in Morehead State project

The Morehead State University (MSU) 21st Century Education Enterprise is offering a professional learning project in which high school mathematics and career and technical education teachers will collaborate to design and implement mathematical practices aimed at improving college and career readiness.

“Building MATH in CTE: Computational Thinking & Construction” is designed for teachers in construction trade areas and mathematics and/or geometry teachers from the same or collaborating districts who can work with them.

The project will begin with a summer institute July 17-21 in Morehead, in which teachers will develop lessons and units within individualized action plans. During the 2017-18 school year, participants will implement the developed lessons from their action plans in their classrooms, with support from CTE and mathematics content experts from MSU, the Kentucky Community and Technical College System and collaborating districts.
