The Kentucky Department of Education (KDE) is accepting nominations for the U.S. Presidential Scholars Program. Schools may nominate one male and one female high school senior based on scholarship and promise of future success.

Schools are encouraged to nominate students who, while demonstrating outstanding scholarship, might not otherwise be nominated through the current ACT/SAT or arts recognition processes. In addition to the general nominations, schools also are asked to nominate additional students as candidates for recognition for excellence in career and technical education (CTE).

Scholars will be honored for their accomplishments during a national recognition program held in June in Washington, D.C.

Students and counselors or teachers who are familiar with them should complete the nomination form, which will be used to help choose up to 25 students who will be nominated by KDE. The nomination deadline is Oct. 20.
