Sayre history symposium spotlights World War I

Sayre School will host the F. Kevin Simon History Symposium on the theme, “War and Memory: American and European Perspectives on the Great War, 1914-1918,” on Feb. 25 at the school in Lexington.

The featured speakers and their topics will be:

  • Karen Petrone, University of Kentucky: “Remembering and Forgetting World War I: Contrasting Eastern and Western European Memory”
  • Ashley Sorrell, University of Kentucky: “Traitors on the Homefront: Public Health and the Mass Detainment of Women in WWI America”
