High school teachers can learn to develop research experiences and opportunities for freshman STEM students in a workshop Nov. 18 in the Cameron Williams Auditorium at the University of Kentucky Plant Science Building in Lexington.
UK faculty members in chemistry, geology and STEM education will lead the workshop, which will include:
- activities targeting the Kentucky Academic Standards for Science and the Next Generation Science Standards;
- demonstration of a hands-on STEM lab activity;
- brainstorming on how to integrate data analysis into the classroom; and
- conversations with UK faculty members.
