The Kentucky Association of School Councils (KASC) is offering two fall academies for teachers and administrators Nov. 14 and Dec. 5 at NorthEast Christian Church in Lexington.
Each academy will feature two three-hour sessions. These sessions will be offered Nov. 14:
- “Systemic Approach to Closing the Gap” trains participants on using the new KASC Gap Closure Toolkit, with a multi-part attack on closing achievement gaps.
- “Digging Deeper into the Gap Closure Toolkit” will allow further exploration of the content and activities of the KASC Gap Closure Toolkit.
These sessions will be offered Dec. 5:
- “Proven Ways to Increase Achievement” will examine proven factors that affect student achievement: growth mindset, student engagement, feedback and relationships.
- “Higher-Level Questioning with Quality Feedback” will offer ideas for raising the level of questioning in the classroom, leading effective discussions to impact student achievement and providing quality feedback that engages learners.
