Teachers are invited to watch a webinar on engaging their students in history through National History Day at 7 p.m. ET Sept. 7. The National History Day program cultivates student interest in a variety of topics, helps students develop research and critical thinking skills, helps them become experts in a topic they are passionate about and boosts their confidence in their own abilities.

In Kentucky, students in grades 4-12 compete at regional and state competitions in the spring, and students in grades 6-12 are eligible for competition at the national level. The adaptable program can take place in or out of the classroom based on the needs of teachers and students.
