Students in grades 9-12 are invited to enter the Lieutenant Governor’s Entrepreneurship Challenge (LGEC), a tiered business pitch competition designed to introduce students to a realistic competitive business environment and to promote business ownership and lifelong learning.

Teams of two to four students with at least two adult advisers will present a written business outline and an oral presentation at one of five regional competitions April 10-13. The top two teams in each region will advance to the state competition April 29 in Lexington, where they will compete for prizes valued at more than $80,000 that will be split among the top three teams.

The registration deadline is Feb. 1, and application materials must be completed online by March 1.
