MakerMinded KY, which seeks to interest students in STEM-related careers early in their educational paths, is hosting its first student video contest. The contest is open to students in grades 5-12 and the videos must be about manufacturing in Kentucky.

Schools may submit up to five videos, each of which can be between 30 seconds and 3 minutes in length. The winning high school and middle school will receive cash prizes of $500 each, and mentoring teachers of the winning schools will receive an Apple Watch. Winning videos will be shared on MakerMinded KY’s website, and winners may attend the Manufacturer of the Year awards luncheon Oct. 27 in Louisville.

The submission deadline is Sept. 29. Visit the MakerMinded KY website for more information.
