Registration is open for the 2018 Lieutenant Governor’s Entrepreneurship Challenge (LGEC), a tiered business pitch competition designed to introduce students to a realistic competitive business environment and to promote business ownership and lifelong learning.

Teams of two to four students in grades 9-12 – with at least one adult adviser – will present a written business plan, an oral presentation, a marketing video and a table-top display at one of 10 regional competitions April 9-13. The top two teams in each region will advance to the state competition April 28 in Lexington, where they will compete for more than $100,000 that will be split among the top four teams. There also will be awards for innovation and audience choice.

The registration deadline is Oct. 31; written and online materials must be completed online by Jan. 31. Visit the LGEC website for more information.
