The Kentucky Department for Environmental Protection’s (DEP) 2017-18 EcoART Contest is open to Kentucky high school students. The contest provides an opportunity for students to gain statewide recognition for their artwork as it relates to Kentucky’s environment. Used as a tool for environmental education, art supports DEP’s mission to protect and conserve Kentucky’s environment.
Multiple awards will be presented to eligible students who create art using the contest’s environmental themes of air, water, land and natural habitats. Students may submit artwork using the media types of drawing/painting/print, mixed media, sculpture/pottery, digital artwork and photography, with one winner for each submitted media type within each theme.
Winning entries will be displayed in the DEP offices in Frankfort.
The entry deadline is Feb. 16. Visit the contest’s web page for more information or an entry form.
