South Heights Elementary School (Henderson County) and Robert B. Turner Elementary School (Anderson County) were chosen as 2016 Model Schools by the International Center for Leadership in Education.

Representatives from the two schools will present at the Model Schools Conference June 26-29 in Orlando, Fla.

South Heights was chosen for the sixth consecutive year, the longest streak of any elementary school in the nation. Robert B. Turner will focus its presentation on the 21st-century classroom, center-based learning, creating a positive culture, engaging lessons and intentional planning.

The conferences brings together teachers and leaders who are focused on raising the bar on instruction, revolutionizing school leadership, engaging students and embracing education innovation.
