I headed to Northern Kentucky to check out another outdoor graduation ceremony. I got there early to scope it out, and it looked beautiful. A stage and chairs were set up on the football field to accommodate the small graduating class and its guests. But before the ceremony even started the sun turned into rain, and the rain turned into a really bad storm. First, the ceremony was moved indoors. Then the power went out. And stayed out. The graduation ceremony was postponed. I wasn’t able to return for the rescheduled ceremony, but I hope it was wonderful.

Tashi Gay wipes a tear away after the graduation ceremony at Holmes High School (Covington Independent) was cancelled due to heavy storms knocking out the power. Gay said she had family in from out of town for the event and wasn't sure if they would be able to make it to the rescheduled ceremony. She plans on studying nursing at Thomas More College.
