The cows were mooing, the pigs were oinking and the fatty food was frying during the Kentucky State Fair.

For 10 days, children and young adults from around the state competed in everything from cattle and horse shows, to beauty pageants and photography contests. There also were booths for everyone, including one for the Kentucky Department of Education.

There’s really nothing like a fair to bring people together. Parents and children bathed animals together, helped each other eat melting ice cream cones and spent hours looking at different exhibits after celebrating the ribbon they won.

Overall, it was a rather spectacular state fair.
