The Estill County school district is implementing various programs as it pursues the mission of “Every Child Succeeds.” New mathematics and reading initiatives at all grade levels, program reviews and new attendance goals all point to student success.

The district is committed to ensuring all students are college- and career-ready and is extremely proud of the district’s college- and career-readiness rate and ACT composite score. Estill County realizes the importance of early childhood education by providing all-day preschool to eligible students and all-day kindergarten to all students.

District success is demonstrated outside the classroom as well. The Estill County Marching Engineers finished as the runner-up during this year’s state band competition. Both the Estill County High School and Estill County Middle School academic teams participated in state competition.

The Estill County school district is very confident in the quality of its staff. The average tenure of school administrators is more than eight years. With today’s very demanding schedule, this is a testament to the quality and caring folks the district has in these positions. The goal of all who work for the district is for all students to be successful in postsecondary education opportunities and/or competitive in today’s workforce. Estill County takes pride in and is thankful for the efforts of staff to create the best learning environment for its students.
