The Erlanger-Elsmere Independent school district is very diverse with an extremely dedicated board of education and wonderful teachers, staff members, parents and community members who partner closely together to meet the needs of all students.

Erlanger-Elsmere Independent collaborates within the district and with many community partners to embrace and attend to the individual needs of students regardless of obstacles that stand in the way. This approach encompasses the high level of diversity within the district, stretches beyond K-12 grade levels and extends cradle to career. As a result of this intentional focus, there are a number of programs which have produced wonderful outcomes for the students.

Erlanger-Elsmere Independent’s preschool expansion includes Pre-K Works, E3C (Early Childhood Collaborative), community outreach and partnerships with all local childcare providers. In less than a year, the development of this innovative mixed-delivery preschool model has significantly increased kindergarten readiness, doubling the number of children enrolled in high-quality preschools within the community. This initiative also has worked to inform the community and increase high quality options for all children.

The district’s research-based and data-driven school counseling program is housed in all seven district schools and has resulted in many areas of academic and social-emotional growth for students. Integrating evidence-based counseling with wrap-around services and high quality instruction has resulted in continuous increases in student progress at the local level and produced two Distinguished – Progressing schools.

Erlanger-Elsmere Independent’s College and Career Readiness (CCR) initiatives include an innovative continuum of dual credit partnerships, AP courses and school leaders facilitating individual student college- and career-readiness groups. Apprenticeships in advanced manufacturing also are planned for the 2016-17 school year. As a result of this work, Lloyd Memorial High School was one of 12 Kentucky schools with a CCR Index of 100 and is a nationally recognized high school.
