Ilona N. Burdette is the new director of the Kentucky Virtual Library, a program of the Kentucky Council on Postsecondary Education.
Orientation sessions set for new Science Assessment System

The Kentucky Department of Education has started a new program of regional arts specialists. Teachers, schools and districts will be able to utilize these individuals as an arts resource for their school and district.
New funding sources available for the arts
Within the Every Student Succeeds Act, terminology such as “well-rounded” is utilized to describe the expectations for a child’s educational needs. With both the arts and music being a part of this definition, new sources of funding have become available to support these content areas.

Kentucky's 4th- and 8th-graders continue to outperform their peers nationally in science, according to data from the 2015 National Assessment of Educational Progress, released Oct. 27 by the Kentucky Department of Education.
