Teachers, instructional coaches, curriculum coordinators and library media specialists working with students in grades 3–12 are encouraged to apply for the 2025 Civics for All of US Teacher Institute with the National Archives in Washington, D.C.
This program will help teachers provide students with the knowledge and skills needed for civic engagement. It will focus on the Declaration of Independence and include hands-on sessions featuring strategies for teaching civics, special tours and site visits to landmarks and museums in the nation’s capital.
Educators are required to develop a plan outlining how they will share National Archives resources with students and colleagues during the 2025-2026 school year. They will also collaborate with fellow educators through group work and discussion.
Participants must arrange their own travel but will receive a $1,050 stipend to offset the cost of travel and lodging upon full participation. Two cohorts are available: the first meets July 14–17, and the second meets July 29–Aug. 1.
Applications are due to the National Archives Foundation by March 31. For more information, visit the 2025 Civics for All of US Teacher Institutes website.
