The Teaching Kentucky History Institute launched its inaugural comprehensive five-day professional learning program for Kentucky social studies educators teaching grades 4-12 in July 2025.

Building on the program’s success, the Kentucky Historical Society is now planning the next installment in July 2026, for 20 more Kentucky-based educators. The next phase in the program’s chronology is the examination of Kentucky’s statehood through the rise of Andrew Jackson. The Teaching Kentucky History Institute blends pedagogy, scholarly insights and travel to multiple historical sites across the state!

Discover more information on the application process by visiting the Teaching Kentucky History Institute website. Applications are OPEN and will be accepted until Dec. 15, 2025.
