Apply to help KDE set standards for science assessments

The Kentucky Department of Education (KDE) is seeking applicants to complete the process of setting standards for the science assessments in grades 4 and 7. The three-day face-to-face meetings will be held July 17-19 in central Kentucky.

The purpose of these meetings is to establish performance level descriptors and delineate Novice, Apprentice, Proficient and Distinguished performance guidelines for the operational grades 4 and 7 science assessments.

Each standards setting committee will consist of science teachers, educators of exceptional children, administrators and curriculum/instructional specialists.

Participants will be compensated or their districts will be reimbursed for the cost of substitute teachers.

The application deadline is June 8. Visit to apply or email Joy Barr for more information.
