Applications are being accepted for The Kentucky Center Governor’s School for the Arts (GSA) 2019 summer program auditions.
Rising juniors and seniors may attend GSA, a three-week summer program that offers in-depth instruction in one of nine artistic disciplines: architecture and design, creative writing, dance, drama, instrumental music, musical theater, film and photography, visual art and vocal music. GSA is tuition free, but students must apply and audition for admittance.
Free informational sessions are offered to help students and parents learn about the program and to support students during the application process. Virtual and in-person sessions will be held, and educators also may request an in-person or virtual session with a GSA representative.
GSA Prep Workshops focus on providing feedback to students on their preliminary round application audition/portfolio material and also include informational sessions. Scheduled dates are:
- Nov. 10 – Centre College, Danville
- Nov. 10 – McCracken County High School, Paducah
- Dec. 1 – Thomas More University, Crestview Hills
- Dec. 1 – Perry County Central High School, Hazard
The GSA summer program application deadline is Jan. 11. Final-round auditions will be held March 22-23 at Centre College in Danville.
