A service academy information fair for juniors and seniors who are interested in attending a military service academy will be held Sept. 5 at the Knicely Conference Center at Western Kentucky University in Bowling Green. Registration and a meet-and-greet will be 5-6 p.m. CT, with the event at 6-8 p.m. CT.
The event hosted by U.S. Sen. Rand Paul will provide information on the nation’s service academies and the academy nomination process. This event will consist of presentations given by representatives from the five U.S. service academies and Paul’s staff. Representatives from each academy will be available before the program to answer questions from students and parents.
Advance registration is required by calling (270) 782-8303. The registration deadline is Aug. 30.
Students interested in attending a military service academy should first contact their academy of choice and request precandidate information. A nomination from a member of Congress is just one step in the process of applying to a service academy. Applicants interested in obtaining a nomination should visit Paul’s website for more information. The deadline for this year’s application is Nov. 15.
For more information, see the “U.S. Service Academy Nomination Fact Sheet,” which provides information on Paul’s nomination application requirements and the application process, or call Academy Coordinator Alexandra Baston at (270) 782-8303.
