The West Kentucky Special Education Cooperative and Kentucky School for the Blind Outreach will host Visionary Day on Sept. 20 at Land Between the Lakes National Recreation Area Nature Station in Golden Pond. The day brings students with blindness and/or visual impairments, their families, teachers and service providers together for learning experiences.
The event is open to students with blindness and/or visual impairments, family members, teachers of the blind and/or visually impaired or other school representatives, orientation and mobility specialists and other related service providers. Expanded curriculum areas highlighted include recreation, social development. and self-determination. Events will include hands-on learning activities with naturalists from the nature station and self-guided tours of the nature station’s backyard.
