The 2020-2021 Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) form is available for students and parents to apply for financial aid for college or graduate school. The application process opened Oct. 1 for the form that federal and state governments, colleges and other organizations use to award financial aid.
The FAFSA may be submitted through either the myStudentAid mobile app or the FAFSA website. The myStudentAid app is available for download in both the Apple App Store and the Google Play store; the website fits the screen size of mobile devices as well as desktop and laptop computers.
Information on the FAFSA determines how much aid a student can receive from federal sources and programs administered by the Kentucky Higher Education Assistance Authority (KHEAA). The results are automatically sent to KHEAA and the colleges a student lists on the FAFSA.
Kentucky Educational Television (KET) has devoted an episode of its “Education Matters” series to helping students and families navigate the college financial aid process. “College Financial Aid 2020: Education Matters” features a panel of financial aid experts who will provide information on the availability of scholarships, grants and other financial aid and offer tips on applying for financial assistance using the FAFSA.
