Applications are being accepted for the Governor’s School for the Arts (GSA) 2020 summer program auditions.
Sophomores and juniors may apply to GSA, a three-week program June 23-July 13 at the University of Kentucky in Lexington. The program offers in-depth instruction in one of nine artistic disciplines: architecture and design, creative writing, dance, drama, instrumental music, musical theater, film and photography, visual art and vocal music. GSA is tuition free, but students must apply and audition for admittance.
Free informational sessions are offered to help students and parents learn about the program and to support students during the application process. Prep workshops focus on providing feedback to students on their preliminary round application audition/portfolio material and also include informational sessions. Virtual and in-person sessions and prep workshops will be held.
The GSA summer program application deadline is Jan. 10. Final-round auditions will be held March 20-22 at UK. Visit the GSA website for more information.
