Applications are being accepted for the McConnell Center Young Leaders Academy, a summer residential leadership conference June 17-20 at the University of Louisville.
The program, open to students who will have completed at least one year of high school by summer 2020, helps participants hone their leadership skills and further their understanding of American history.
The 2020 program, “Revisiting American Constitutionalism,” will consider:
- Federalist and Anti-Federalist debates;
- Perspectives on the proper role of government in modern America; and
- The role of federal courts and political institutions in modern America.
Participants in the free program – lodging is included – will take part in a series of seminars, discussions, lectures, team-building activities and structured socials during their four-day stay. Sessions will be led by faculty, staff and students of UofL and other area institutions and will be conducted at or near an entry-level college experience.
The application deadline is April 15. Visit UofL’s website for more information.
