NBCTs seeking renewal in 2020 must submit information to EPSB

The Education Professional Standards Board requires two submissions from Kentucky National Board-certified teachers (NBCTs) who are going through the renewal process for 2020 that has been altered by the COVID-19 emergency.

NBCTs who obtained a one-year extension from the National Board for Professional Teaching Standards (NBPTS) and who need to renew their credentials with the Education Professional Standards Board (EPSB) must submit a copy of their email or letter from NBPTS showing that their National Board certification has been extended to 2021.

In addition to that verification, teachers also must submit a CA-2 renewal application form, which is available on the EPSB website. If National Board certification is the only thing needed for renewal in 2020, there is no fee for the one-year renewal.
