Middle school science teachers can apply for an all-expense-paid week of science education activities at Western Kentucky University (WKU) in Bowling Green.

Ten teachers will be chosen for the National STEM Scholar Program, hosted by The Gatton Academy of Mathematics and Science and The Center for Gifted Studies.

The event will take place May 30-June 5, 2021. Activities include “hands-on, minds-on science,” presentations from STEM education leaders, and development of a Challenge Project for use in the classroom. Each participant will get a Chromebook and funding for Challenge Project supplies.

Participants will discuss progress with their colleagues at the National Science Teachers Association annual meeting in April 2022. Throughout the year, WKU faculty will provide mentoring.

The application deadline is Feb. 1, 2021. Apply online for the National STEM Scholar Program.
