National math and science competition scheduled

The Korean-American Scientists and Engineers Association (KSEA) sponsors a National Math and Science competition. The competition is open to students in grades 4-11. Students interested in participating may register online, and the competition will be offered at Asbury University on April 21. Asbury also will offer two preparation sessions. Fellowships available for Kentucky English teachers

The Bread Loaf School of English is pleased to announce a generous grant from the C.E. and S. Foundation in Louisville. Participants sought for performing arts education study

Richard Dodson, assistant professor at Murray State University, is conducting research on the effect No Child Left Behind (NCLB) has had on performing arts education in Kentucky schools since its enactment in January 2002. The State Advisory Panel for Exceptional Children will host an open public forum March 15 at Lake Cumberland State Resort Park. 2012 Promising Practices in Character Education Program

Applications are being accepted for the 2012 Promising Practices in Character Education Program, sponsored by the Character Education Partnership (CEP). CEP looks for a wide variety of practices that successfully promote character education among youth, and the group recognizes them annually as Promising Practices. The deadline to apply is March 1.

Trooper Island Scholarships available
