High school writers invited to summer writing workshop at Murray State

The Purchase Area Writing Workshop (PAWW) is accepting applications for its summer program June 24-30 at Murray State University (MSU). The workshop offers high school students the opportunity to work on their creative writing with MSU professors and working writers.

Participants can hear speakers talk about issues that will engage students’ critical and creative thinking. Courses include a poetry workshop, a fiction workshop and seminars in both genres. There also will be film screenings, student readings and other activities, as well as excursions for residential campers.

The registration deadline is May 12. Students may stay on campus or commute from their homes. Full and partial scholarships are available. Visit MSU’s website or the PAWW Facebook page for more information.
