The Louisville Writing Project will host the 2018-19 Adolescent Literacy Project, a literacy-focused workshop for middle school mathematics and science teachers July 17-20. The workshop, which also includes Saturday sessions on Sept. 8 and Feb. 2, will feature experience strategies, lesson sequences and tools to enhance students’ learning in math and science.
Participants may earn badges toward a microcredential through the Louisville Writing Project. Those who complete the program – including submitting student work samples and documenting their implementation of a school-year action plan – will receive a $500 stipend.
Ideal teaching teams will include at least one mathematics teacher and one science teacher from the same school, although teachers from multiple grade levels and individual teachers also may attend.
The registration deadline is June 10. Email Jean Wolph for more information.
