KASC hosting February workshops in Lexington, Murray

KASC is offering two academies for teachers and administrators in February:

  • “Essentials of On-Demand Writing” helps teachers know the characteristics of each mode of writing in the Kentucky Academic Standards and implement writing strategies for the classroom. Participants also should develop an understanding of how to prepare students for Kentucky’s on-demand assessment. The workshop will be offered Feb. 23 at JA BizTown in Lexington.
  • “Systemic Approach to Closing the Gap” trains teams on ways to address barriers, gain strategies for a variety of gap issues and focus the school on increasing student achievement. Participating teams also will receive KASC’s “Gap Closure Toolkit: Strategic Approaches to Student Success.” The workshop will be offered Feb. 19 at JA BizTown in Lexington and Feb. 23 at Murray State University’s Alexander Hall.
