The Kentucky Coalition for English Learners will hold its inaugural summer institute June 10-11 at the Muhammad Ali Center in Louisville.
The conference is designed for general education teachers and school and district leaders. Workshop topics will include strategies for instruction, special education and English learners, building equity and use of technology. Keynote speakers will include Diane Staehr Fenner, founder and president of SupportEd, which provides skills and resources to educators of English learners; and Aída Walqui, director of WestEd’s Quality Teaching for English Learners project. General education teachers and school and district leadership are encouraged to attend.
