The Kentucky Historical Society (KHS) has announced the schedule for its teachers’ workshops for the 2019-2020 school year.
The workshops are:
- Nov. 8 – “Teaching American History: The American Founding” offers an overview of the principles of the American Founding and the documents that embody them, especially the Declaration of Independence and the U.S. Constitution. For teachers in grades 6-12.
- Feb. 15 – “Institute for Curriculum Services: Teaching the Arab-Israeli Conflict and Peace Process Using Primary Sources” will use a historical approach with an emphasis on primary sources to connect the history of the Arab-Israeli conflict to the current situation. For teachers in grades 6-12.
- April 24 – “Teaching American History: Women in American History” will explore readings and documents from some of the periods of transformation of women’s political, social and economic status. For teachers in grades 6-12.
