Kentucky History Education Conference becomes virtual event

The Kentucky Historical Society’s annual Kentucky History Education Conference has been rescheduled as a free, virtual conference July 16.

The conference for educators in grades K-12 will feature sessions related to each of the four social studies themes – civics, economics, geography and history – as well as practical classroom teaching strategies.

It will be preceded by a virtual workshop on National History Day in Kentucky on July 15. Participants in this workshop will receive an introduction to National History Day and the 2021 theme and discuss topics and ways to integrate this project-based learning experience into their classrooms. It is designed for educators in grades 4-12.

The registration deadline is July 9. Visit the KHS website for more information.
