KET Young Writers Contest expands to add grades, writing options

The KET Young Writers Contest invites students to share their stories through illustrations, short stories and poems. The contest is open to students in all grades and is designed to promote the advancement of children’s literacy skills through hands-on, active learning and to empower children to celebrate creativity and build literacy skills by writing their own stories.

The contest’s scope has been broadened to include additional writing options that will allow students to stretch their creative minds even further. Prizes including gift cards and smart notebooks will be awarded.

Students in the following grade levels may submit these entries:

  • Grades K-3 – Illustrated story
  • Grades 4-5 – Illustrated story, short story and/or poem
  • Grades 6-12 – Short story and/or poem

The entry deadline is March 27. Visit KET’s website for more information.
