Nominate a student for the Billy Michal Student Leadership Award

Educators are invited to nominate a student in grades 8-12 for the chance to win a trip to the National WWII Museum’s American Spirit Awards. The award ceremony will be held on June 9-10 in New Orleans.

The museum selects one student from each state to receive the Billy Michal Student Leadership Award. Nominees should have a strong record of volunteerism, school and/or community activism, or evidence of creative problem-solving. Selected awardees – along with a parent or chaperone – will travel to New Orleans to be recognized as part of the award ceremony.

Awardees are invited to the National WWII Museum and attend the American Spirit Leadership Luncheon and Forum. Other opportunities include participating in a Q&A session with the American Spirit Awards medallion recipients, exploring New Orleans and meeting Billy Michal himself.

Applications are available on the museum’s website. The deadline to submit a nomination is March 18.
