Kentucky students from across the Commonwealth are invited to create and submit original works of art for the annual Kentucky Department of Agriculture (KDA) Poster and Essay Contest.
Students in grades K-12 can submit a poster, an essay of 500 words or less or a digital entry, which may be photos or original digital artwork based on the contest theme. The theme for 2022 is “Kentucky Agriculture Sustains Me.”
Statewide poster and essay winners from each grade will be chosen, and an overall digital winner will be selected. Cash prizes will be presented to the winners at the 2022 Poster and Essay Awards Ceremony. Information regarding the ceremony will be released to the winners later.
The winning entries will be displayed in the Commissioner’s Office in Frankfort, at the 2022 Kentucky State Fair in Louisville, and on the KDA website.
Entries must be postmarked by March 7 and mailed to the KDA, c/o Elizabeth Gordon, 111 Corporate Drive, Frankfort, KY 40601.
A completed entry form must be taped or glued to the back of each entry. If all information on the entry form is not completed, the submission will be disqualified.
Winners will be notified by April 15.
