The White House Historical Association (WHHA) is offering two new resources on the Executive Mansion to help educators enhance their curricula:
- “The 1600 Sessions” is a podcast that explores the history, untold stories and personal accounts of the White House through conversations with historians and eyewitnesses to history. In the newest episode, “Beyond the Classroom,” WHHA President Stewart McLaurin hosts a roundtable discussion with representatives of other organizations on how the association partners with them to teach the relevance of White House history to today’s students.
- The White House Experience mobile app offers virtual educational tours of the White House and the surrounding neighborhood. The app features three separate tour experiences for in-person visitors and those who want to learn about the White House from afar. The app also includes a Presidential Look-Alike feature that allows users to take a selfie to find out which president or first lady they most resemble. The app is available for both iOS and Android users, and an online web version will be available soon.
