New summer ‘Stride, Don’t Slide’ resource available from KDE

The Kentucky Department of Education (KDE) has compiled a list of resources to help families help their children fight summer reading and math regression. A new “Stride, Don’t Slide” flyer lists resources families can use this summer to help their children make strides while school is not in session. A Spanish version of the flyer also is available.

Teachers and librarians can help fight summer reading and mathematics regression by building interest in the resources listed on the flyer with their students, then sending the flyer home with students before school is out. The flyer also may be distributed by other stakeholders such as family resource centers, educational cooperatives and preschool and childcare providers, as well as local doctors’ offices.
