Students can save Thanksgiving history with StoryCorps

KET can help high school students join in a national project, The Great Thanksgiving Listen. The project asks high school students to record an interview with an older family member during Thanksgiving weekend, using the free StoryCorps App.

Those interviews will be entered in the StoryCorps Collection of the American Folklife Center at the Library of Congress and the StoryCorps Archive as a resource for future historians. They can also serve as personal history for families.

In 2015, The Great Thanksgiving Listen’s first year, students across the country contributed more than 50,500 recordings to the Library of Congress.
