Susan McLaughlin, an integrated science and physics teacher at Lafayette High School (Fayette County), received the Kentucky Education Association Award for Teaching Excellence at the KEA delegate assembly this spring.
McLaughlin received a $1,000 prize and a commemorative apple. She will compete for the National Education Association’s Foundation Award for Teaching Excellence, which will be announced in early 2019.
McLaughlin has worked in Fayette County schools since 1996. She will begin a new position later this summer as a behavior interventionist at Maxwell Elementary School, a Spanish immersion magnet school.
