Governor’s School for the Arts

The Kentucky Center Governor’s School for the Arts celebrated 25 years this summer. The three-week residential experience is intended to mimic an intense college conservatory atmosphere. It is held on the campus of Transylvania University in Lexington.

Shakespeare in the summer

R.E. Stevenson Elementary School

A lucky day for me is when I visit a school on assignment for Kentucky Teacher and also visit a nearby district. Often this is the case when a county has an independent school district. In January I had the pleasure of visiting R.E. Stevenson Elementary School in Russellville Independent.

Pineville Independent Schools

Once again I was able to visit an independent district and a county district on the same day. This time it was Pineville Independent in Bell County. The students and staff were friendly and focused on learning during my short visit.
