Louisville-area students chosen as U.S. Senate Youth Program delegates

Shubh Gupta, a junior at duPont Manual High School (Jefferson County) and Alex Marion Young, a junior at Saint Xavier High School in Louisville, were selected to participate in the United States Senate Youth Program (USSYP) during the 59th annual USSYP Washington Week, to be held March 14-17.

KDE’s DoSE Advisory Group discusses ESSER II funds, spending requirements

At a Feb. 17 virtual meeting, the Kentucky Department of Education’s Directors of Special Education (DoSE) Advisory Group discussed new federal funding from the Elementary and Secondary School Emergency Relief (ESSER II) Grant Program and how the almost $1 billion coming to Kentucky’s schools may affect districts’ local and state funds used to provide special education and related services.
