Professional learning for world languages, immersion teachers


With the new school year right around the corner, now is the time for educators to begin planning which professional learning events will provide them with opportunities to grow as professionals.

The following is a list of professional learning events that will happen during the 2018-2019 school year:

  • Kentucky World Language Association (KWLA) 2018 Fall Conference

  • American Council on the Teaching of Foreign Languages (ACTFL) 2018 Annual Convention and World Languages Expo
    • When: Nov. 16-18

  • 2019 Central States Conference on the Teaching of Foreign Languages (CSCTFL)
    • When: March 14-16
    • Where: Hilton Downtown Columbus, Columbus, Ohio

  • 2019 Southern Conference On Language Teaching (SCOLT)
    • When: March 21-23
    • Where: Sheraton Myrtle Beach Convention Center Hotel, Myrtle Beach, S.C.

  • 2019 Center for Advanced Research on Language Acquisition (CARLA) International Conference on Immersion and Dual Language Education
    • When: Feb. 6-9
    • Where: The Westin Charlotte, Charlotte, N.C.
