The Kentucky World Language Association’s (KWLA) Annual Conference will be held Sept. 20-22 at the Griffin Gate Marriott Spa and Resort in Lexington. With more than 300 attendees expected from across Kentucky and other states, we are thoroughly looking forward to “Connecting the Commonwealth: Proficiency to Practice.”
The conference will focus on providing world language educators with the latest in research, standards and best practices in order to increase students’ language proficiency and to promote students’ success in a global society. Georgia Spanish teacher Meredith White will join us as a featured presenter, and we are excited to welcome more than 70 presenters from across the commonwealth and beyond.
Conference registration is open on the KWLA website until Sept. 14. You also will want to make sure to be a part of our hotel block to guarantee the special group rate, participate in a nightly raffle and enjoy the facilities with no resort fee. Book by Sept. 6, 2018 at the Marriott website or call (800) 228-9290 and ask for the Kentucky World Language Conference.
On-site registration opens at 5 p.m. Sept. 20. September 21 kicks off with the opening session, continues with a full day of sessions and workshops, and ends with the first KWLA Conference Trivia Night. Sessions and workshops continue through Sept. 22, where the new 2018 KWLA Outstanding Teacher and other award winners will be announced.
We certainly hope you will join us in Lexington at the KWLA Annual Conference in September!
