Young Kentuckians ages 7-17 are eligible to enter the 2018 Kentucky Storytelling Association’s (KSA) Youth Storytelling Competition.
Through the competition, the KSA endeavors to develop, encourage and highlight the talent of the Commonwealth’s young storytellers. The contest is designed for storytellers who are developing and using their presentation and performance skills for the purpose of communicating a story to an audience, as opposed to storytellers who are using a story to display their performance skills.
Video entries, which may be submitted via a mailed DVD or an electronic video link, and will be accepted through June 1.
Up to five Kentucky Youth Storytelling Torchbearers will be selected. Each will receive a Kentucky-made plaque, a KSA membership, invitations to tell at various events and up to $100 in reimbursements for travel expenses when acting as a Torchbearer.
