KCM offering free primary mathematics learning opportunity

The Kentucky Center for Mathematics (KCM) has partnered with the Kentucky Department of Education (KDE) to offer the Foundations for Primary Graduates Summer Institute, which is designed to give primary educators high-impact professional learning experiences. Former participants of the Enacting Effective Response to Intervention program, Foundations for Primary Grades, and individuals currently enrolled in a Foundations for Primary 2nd and 3rd Grades course are welcome to attend this one-day session.

The course will be taught June 25 at the Kentucky Department of Education, 300 Sower Blvd., Frankfort. The facilitator will be Kris Jarboe. Registration, which is available on the KCM website, closes on May 28.

Expect to expand your pedagogical repertoire adding tools, techniques, resources and strategies for teaching number sense in ways that reach a wide range of students. This interactive, hands-and-minds-on workshop will help you think about how to develop mathematical experiences for children that are positive and motivating.
