The deadline for applications to the Kentucky Reading Project (KRP), a yearlong, graduate-level course focused on research-based literacy instruction, has been extended. Faculty members at each of the eight state universities provide instruction at various sites across the state on topics such as Senate Bill 1 (2009), the Kentucky Core Academic Standards, formative assessments and college- and career-readiness.

Teachers in grades K-5 may participate in KRP and will receive a stipend, professional resources and graduate credit (if desired) upon completion of the course in May 2016. Participation in KRP involves no cost to the teacher, school or district.

The deadline has been extended to March 14 due to extreme winter weather. Click here for more information or to apply, or contact KRP director Cary Pappas at cary.pappas@uky.edu or (859) 257-6118.
